Corporate Social Responsibility

We take responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility

As a successful organisation, our aim is to give something back to society. Social engagement and acting responsibly are therefore very important to us. We have been pleased to commit to social projects for many years, lending them our active support.

This year Real Garant have decided to forego corporate Christmas gifts to customers and business partners in order to – instead -donate the money. We are supporting projects which are particularly important to us and which are mainly focused on helping the youngest ones in our society. The employees of our different branches have agreed on the organization or project they would like to support in their respective country:

In Germany a certain amount of money is donated for each employee. All employees are free to choose which of the three following organizations “their” contribution should go to:

  1. Herzenswünsche e.V.” is a nationwide association that – in consultation with parents, doctors and therapists – fulfils long-awaited, heartfelt wishes for seriously ill children and teenagers. The idea behind is to provide the young ones and their families with some encouraging and energising moments of joy, making the everyday hospital life a little more colourful.

  1. The “Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Stuttgart“ is a hospice in Stuttgart that takes care of and accompanies children and young people as well as their families when they are experiencing advanced, life-limiting illness. It offers them a safe place full of peace, comfort and trust.

  1. The DKMS – the German stem cell donor database – is committed to the fight against blood cancer worldwide. The foundation motivates people to register in the stem cell donor database, enables sick people to have access to therapies, takes care of their well-being and supports the further development of treatment methods.

The Belgian colleagues have chosen the organization “moeders voor moeders“ (mothers for mothers). This non-profit organization supports hundreds of families with young children in financial difficulties by providing food, clothing, baby equipment, etc. There is also the “resto-bébé” service, where the little ones get a bath and a warm meal twice a week.

In Italy the donations go to the “Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Meyer”. The hospital is known far beyond Tuscany for its diagnostic skills, compassionate care and rehabilitation of children and adolescents. In addition, the hospital is a driving force for research and innovation in these areas.

In Spain it is the “Aladina” foundation which will benefit from our donation. The foundation is committed to supporting children and adolescents suffering from cancer as well as their parents and siblings. The aim is to promote the physical as well as the mental health of the families. This is achieved, for example, by offering free, professional psychological support and by developing a physical exercise program.

In Austria’s capital city Vienna it’s  the St. Anna Children’s Hospital that is looking forward to our donation. In this hospital children and young people with acute and chronic diseases receive comprehensive care. This includes both treatment based on the latest medical expertise but also psychological support for the patients and their families.

Cooperation with “bhz Stuttgart”

Since summer 2020, Real Garant has been working with the bhz Stuttgart as a service provider for the storage and organization of the shipping of our advertising and printed material. The bhz is an institution in which disabled people work, live, learn and receive support. With the bhz, we have not only found a reliable service provider, but we are also very happy to support people with disabilities in this way.

During a visit to the facility, we were given very interesting insights into their work.

Germany: masks for donations

In the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, Real Garant decided to provide all employees with masks. The masks in Real Garant colors were sewn as part of a donation campaign by the mother of our colleague Lisa Ottmar. The proceeds went to Mercy Ships Germany e.V., an organization that provides medical aid to countries south of the Sahara, and to the Alzheimer Research Initiative e.V., a non-profit organization whose task is to research and treat Alzheimer’s disease.

As a company, it is important to us that our employees are protected in the best possible way. To make this possible by supporting a good cause is a way for us to provide help in the current situation through our own company

Helping hands at the Esslingen Youth Farm

Our employees have been involved for many years with the Youth Farm in Esslingen. Children have the chance to play, run around, build wooden huts or look after the animals, including ponies, goats and rabbits, at this activity and adventure playground, all with educational supervision. Once a year, staff swap their laptops and computer mice for a paintbrush and hammer and get stuck in at the site. They help out wherever needed. So, with every passing year, the Youth Farm looks a little bit more attractive.

Belgium: Help for children in need

By ordering coffee and Christmas cards from buy aid, our office in Belgium donates several times a year to humanitarian organisations such as Unicef and Child Focus. 10% of the proceeds from their exceptionally high quality product goes to help children in need.

Spain: Donations for Caritas

And our colleagues in Spain also demonstrate their social commitment. In December each year, they take part in a campaign to collect donations for Caritas, including food, hygiene products, clothes and toys for people in need.
