Real Garant appoints new Board member: Jörg Seidel takes on role of COO

With Jörg Seidel, Real Garant Versicherung AG is gaining a new Board member for Operations and IT as of 01.10.2023. Jörg Seidel succeeds Horst Nussbaumer, who previously oversaw the area in addition to his position as Chief Operating Officer at Zurich Group Germany.

The customer loyalty specialist Real Garant successfully continues to grow. With market entries most recently in France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, the Real Garant Board is repositioning itself this year in order to maintain its successful course. Only in May, the board was expanded to four members with Florian Rohkamm as Chief Distribution Officer. Now, the company is taking a further step by appointing Jörg Seidel to the Board in charge of Operations and IT. The latter succeeds Horst Nussbaumer, who worked at Real Garant in addition to his role at Zurich Group Germany. “We would like to thank Horst Nussbaumer for his many years of excellent cooperation and his valuable contribution to the company’s success,” says Lutz Kortlüke, Chief Executive Officer Real Garant. “Now we look forward to taking Real Garant to the next level with Jörg Seidel.”

With Jörg Seidel, Real Garant has brought an industry expert on board: Jörg Seidel has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, 23 of which in the insurance sector. During this time, Jörg Seidel was active in Europe as well as worldwide in various countries. Most recently, he was a member of the Board of Mercedes Benz Versicherung AG and was responsible, among other things, for the reinsurance activities of the Mercedes-Benz Group. “The step into the Zurich Group and here into the powerhouse Real Garant immediately interested me. The development prospects for the company are outstanding. I am convinced that together we can achieve the goals we have set, and that the Operations division will make an important contribution to this,” says Jörg Seidel about his new position.
